If not in London, Buriganga can be seen in the Thames river: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that he will not go to London to visit the River Thames, and will go to Buriganga.

He said this while inaugurating the construction work at Kholamora Ghar in Kamrangirchar on Saturday.

The Home Minister said the riverine nature of Bangladesh will be highlighted by Buriganga and all the rivers in the country. Passengers and goods will be facilitated by introducing circular waterways around Dhaka.

He said, Buriganga will be made as beautiful as Hatirjheel, and it will be seen in a year.

Buriganga will be the center of amusement. Then we will not have to go to London to see the River Thames, Buriganga will go. '

He also said that the construction of boundary pillars, walkways, arrow protection dams, walkway anupil etc. have been started in the banks of the river for reclamation of the four rivers of Dhaka (Turag, Balu, Shitalakshya and Buriganga).

It is learned that these works are being implemented through a project taken by the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority of Bangladesh under the Ministry of Shipping. The cost of the project is 844.55 million taka

The project, which started from July 2018, will end in June 2022. The main purpose of this project is to build illegal roads, illegal occupation of river banks, increase the beauty of occupancy-free areas, environmental development, road construction.
